My experience at Wichita State University

Since I was a child, I've learned the importance of giving my best in everything I do. This mindset has helped me discover different aspects of myself as I've grown up. Mixing this dedication with my skill in communication and desire to help others has not only shaped my personal values but also the kind of life I want to lead. As a recognition of my dedication and achievements, I was granted a prestigious full scholarship to study at Wichita State University in Kansas, USA, for the spring semester of 2024, thanks to BECAL (Carlos Antonio Lopez Scholarships) and the Paraguay Kansas Committee.

From the moment I arrived in Wichita, I was fascinated by a city that encourages healthy habits and strong determination. It introduced me to a diverse and lively community unlike any I had experienced before. Interacting with students from different backgrounds, cultures, and viewpoints broadened my understanding and challenged my perspectives. Every class, conversation, and social event became an opportunity for learning, growth, and appreciation for cultural diversity.

Wichita provided numerous opportunities for self-improvement, from beautiful biking trails and stunning views of sunsets by the lake to great spaces to study offered by the university, along with various interactive events organized by student groups, ranged from talks with professionals to training sessions on new technologies and competitions aimed at student menthal and physical development, as well as spaces for students to meet like-minded peers.

My time at Wichita State University was truly transformative. At first, I felt excited and a bit nervous, but soon I found myself in a stimulating academic environment. Engaging with experienced professors, exploring challenging coursework, and participating in lively discussions expanded my knowledge and deepened my understanding of my field of study. The exchange of ideas with my peers created a dynamic learning atmosphere that went beyond cultural boundaries.

Beyond academics, my time at Wichita State was a period of personal growth and discovery. Stepping out of my comfort zone, navigating new surroundings, and overcoming challenges tested my resilience and adaptability. These experiences gave me a newfound sense of independence, confidence, and self-reliance.

Outside of class, I embraced every opportunity to explore Wichita's rich culture. Whether it was trying local cuisine, attending cultural events, or connecting with members of the community, each experience enriched my understanding of American culture.

As my time at Wichita State University came to an end, I reflected on the profound impact it had on me. It was more than just a semester abroad; it was a journey of self-discovery, growth, and personal transformation. I am grateful for the friendships I made, the lessons I learned, and the memories I created.

Returning home, I carry a deeper appreciation for diversity, a broader perspective on the world, and a renewed sense of purpose. My experience at Wichita State University has not only enhanced my education but also shaped who I am today.
